On the way to Cappadocia

Weekly Photo Challenge: On the way. In between moments can be just as memorable as grand finales.
Here’s some snapshots taken from the flight of hot air balloon.
Location: Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey.

This was such a wonderful experience. My wife and I woke up early and being taken out into the darkness; given cups of coffee and buns and then watching the balloons all being inflated with the gas in the darkness.

We are given a number and then called and taken to our balloon. So much fun.  We were given safety instructions and then we were taking off as the sun was rising.

To try and describe this experience is impossible but the scenery looking down and the seeing the cave like landscape and the other balloons just floating in the sky. You feel as if you are in another world. We will never forget our wonderful experience.

  1. I agree whole-heartedly Bams. My husband and I did the same about 10 years ago over the vineyards of Australia and it’s one of my most vivid memories. The quiet while floating above the clouds is amazing.
